Since 2010, SAGAT S.p.A. has adopted an energy management system certified according to the international standard ISO 50001. It also periodically updates the energy diagnosis in the manner prescribed by Legislative Decree 102/2014.

The Energy Management Policy of SAGAT S.p.A. is defined by the Top Management in line with the Company's Mission.

SAGAT, aware of the role that the Airport plays for the local area, intends to ensure full and continuous application of the rules and the highest standards of sustainability that are reflected in the commitment to improve the energy efficiency of its infrastructure and to reduce climate-altering emissions.    

SAGAT considers Energy Management a key factor for sustainable development. It actively participates in national and international initiatives aimed at defining, implementing and promoting good practices for energy efficiency and the sustainability of airport infrastructures.

SAGAT recognizes the need for priority and adequate actions to support the decarbonization of aviation, in compliance with the Paris Agreement on climate change. 

Top Management is aware that the commitment and involvement of the company's top management are essential elements for the development and improvement of the Energy Management System and establishes its policies and strategic objectives.
The priority objectives that SAGAT intends to pursue are:
 

• reduce energy consumption through interventions on production, distribution and end-use systems;
• promote the use of renewable sources and the purchase of electricity from certified renewable sources; 
• be an active part in the complete decarbonization of the aviation sector with reference to the NetZero 2050 commitment and in line with the Fit for 55 package by 2030;
• periodically monitor, measure and analyze its energy performance;
• achieve the objectives of effectiveness and efficiency of energy processes, analyzing the results obtained in order to identify and intervene on potential areas for improvement;
• ensure financial and human resources to achieve the set objectives;
• ensure the exchange of information inside and outside its structure to ensure the involvement of all staff and suppliers in the continuous improvement process;   
• promote the development of an internal culture oriented towards saving and the correct use of energy, also promoting this process with adequate training interventions, included in the various moments of updating its staff;
• promote initiatives to raise awareness of airport users on the issue of energy saving;
• become a reference point for the development of innovation and sustainability programs on the subject of energy, both in the airport sector and in the territory to which it belongs.
