MARITIME, AVIATION AND BORDER HEALTH OFFICE PREVENTIVE MEDICINE AND VACCINATION SERVICES
At the Maritime, Aviation and Border Health Office (USMAF) the medical and paramedical personnel is available to the public to give any helpful information about any epidemics in progress in the countries of destination, on the basis of the information received from the World Health Organization and instructions given by the central offices of the Ministry.
In the same place, located in the northern part of the passenger terminal, vaccinations are administered on appointment against the main infectious diseases (yellow fever, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid fever, etc.) and advice is given about any need for preventive medicine before journeys to areas at risk for malaria.
It is advisable to book a preliminary interview with the doctor or with other authorised personnel to remove any doubt or uncertainty about pathologies, countries of destination and any personal contraindications to vaccination or preventive medicine.
The cost of the service is variable depending on the number and type of vaccines.
