Roadmap

Participation in international initiatives is a fundamental step towards the Net Zero goal, an important commitment made by the SAGAT Group towards the environment and the community to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from operations under its control to zero.

In 2024, the activities carried out enabled the development of an energy model of the airport aimed at creating SAGAT's decarbonization Roadmap. The model made it possible to move the commitment to achieve Net Zero carbon signed in 2019 forward by ten years, setting the goal of zeroing emissions by 2040. The modeling was based on the integration of data describing the physical behavior of the main technologies that will enable the decarbonization of supplies (such as photovoltaic systems, fuel cells, electrification of consumption and different storage methods) with the creation of scenarios related to energy markets and their evolution over time (such as the national electricity grid, the hydrogen and biomethane market).

The infographic shows the chronology of the interventions aimed at reducing greenhouse gas and pollutant emissions into the atmosphere, with the intermediate target set at 2030 and aligned with the objectives of the Fit for 55 program.
